GUWAHATI: With the ongoing rising number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, the state government has come up with a new quarantine facility at Khanapara Veterinary Ground.
Speaking to G Plus, Lakshmanan S, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) said, "We have started the operation at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground a few days back and are currently accommodating 450 patients."
Further the mission director said that the facility can hold upto 800 patients with further capabilities of expansion.

The mission director also said that the Kiranshree Grand Hotel which was the screening centre for air passengers will now not be functional and passengers will be screened at Sarusajai stadium.
Going forward all the air passengers will be screened at the Sarusajai Indoor stadium and the Kiranshree facility will be wound up.
