GUWAHATI: Punjab cabinet minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been asked to leave the popular late-night comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show after he voiced his comments on the recent Pulwama attacks. Sidhu will be replaced by Archana Puran Singh.

According to a report on Indian Express, Sidhu’s remarks were not taken kindly and the channel, Sony TV does not want to be dragged into any unwanted controversy. Thus, the team amicably decided to distance themselves from the cabinet minister.

Sidhu during a media interaction had said that “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.” His comments were met with a lot of criticism.

It should be noted that the Pulwama attack killed 40 plus CRPF personnel and injured many others on February 15, in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
