National Level Debate Competition Held At Guwahati’s Cotton University

 

GUWAHATI: The 42nd edition of the Manik Chandra Barooah National Level Debate competition was held at Cotton University, with 20 institutions participating on September 9.

The debate focused on the topic, "The Union Budget 2024 adequately addresses the issues of unemployment and inflation in the Indian economy." Cotton University’s team, represented by Rajdeep Mahanta and Swargam Mukuta Alam, emerged victorious. Mahanta was also awarded the Best Debater prize, while Assam Medical College’s Krittika Gogoi won the second Best Debater title.

The event was presided over by Kumar Padmapani Bora, Secretary to the Assam Government's Department of Tourism, who lauded the participants for their articulate arguments and contributions to meaningful discourse.
