The newly constituted committee would look into the details of the new education policy and have a blueprint ready for implementation by 31 December 2020.

Further, elaborating on a number of new steps that would go towards the timely implementation of the new education policy, the minister defined the new system that would eventually replace the existing education system.

He said, “Nursery and KG would be replaced with Grade 1 and Grade 2 such that leading up to the college level, a student would have completed Grade 15 instead of Grade 12 as is currently the scenario.”

The new education policy introduced after nearly 30 years seeks to completely overhaul the current moribund education system so as to allow ‘universalization’ of India’s education.
