GUWAHATI: Nalinakhya Kashyap emerged victorious in the Sunday Rapid Chess Tournament held at the Guwahati Chess Academy on May 15.
He remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, securing 5.5 points from six rounds, and clinched the title.
Prakash Nath secured the second position with five points from the same number of rounds. Atharva Mahanta, Shuvang Pran Kashyap, and Nibhriti Goswami also scored five points each but was placed third, fourth, and fifth respectively based on their tie-break score.
Navishta Hazarika was named the best female player of the tournament with four points from six rounds. The tournament was held at the Academy's premises in the city and was organised by the Guwahati Chess Academy.
