GUWAHATI: Jonmoni Rabha, the Sub Inspector Of the Police of Mariklong police station in Nagaon, was killed in a horrific road accident at Sarubhagiya, Jakhalabandha in Assam on May 16.
Rabha was travelling from Nagaon in a Maruti Espresso car and was on the way to upper Assam at night.
The police officer's report stated while talking to the media that SI Rabha lost control abruptly and hit a high-speed container truck at around 1:30 AM and crashed.
The Jakhalabandha police reached the spot immediately afterward and took Rabha's body to the Civil Hospital in Jakhalabandha.
She was declared dead on the spot on arrival at the hospital.
Nagaon district Superintendent of Police Leena Doley rushed to the spot earlier in the night to take stock of the situation along with other officials.
The victims’ body was sent to Nagaon for postmortem.
The exact destination of her travel is hitherto unknown and is being ascertained.
Further investigations on the matter are underway.
