GUWAHATI: Amidst the city-wide lockdown, the dead body of 43 year old musician Subhrajyoti (Piku) Baruah was found on June 29 near the Lakhtokia over bridge.
The body was found inside Baruah’s own Nano car, having registration plate number AS 01 AV 7932, near the Lakhtokia over bridge, opposite Hotel President.
Officer-in-charge of Geetanagar Police Station, talking to G Plus informed, “Piku Baruah was a resident of Rodalee Apartments situated near Hatigarh Chariali. His family reported him missing as Baruah had left home on 28th June in his car without saying anything to his family. On 29th June we found his dead body inside the car at Lakhtokia.”

The cause of the death is unknown. Police investigation is currently under way.
Piku Baruah is the cousin of renowned singer Joi Baruah.
Joi Baruah, speaking to G Plus said, “He was a very dear cousin of mine. We grew up playing together and he has joined me in a few of my music compositions. He was not into mainstream music. Our family is heartbroken at his sudden demise. Post mortem is going on and only after that we will known the cause of his death.”
