MoU Signed for Documentation of Contemporary Social History of Assam

GUWAHATI: The Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), a state open university established by the Government of Assam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nanda Talukdar Foundation (NTF) for documentation of the contemporary social history of Assam.


The purpose of MoU is to continue research and document the events and happening of the post-colonial Assam.  The purpose of the MoU is to promote mutual collaboration in research activities and establish a framework for exchange and collaboration in areas of history and other areas of common interests for mutual benefit. 


For furtherance of the objectives of both the organizations, both the organization shall work for joint and collaborative research and consultancy in the thrust areas of common interests. They shall work for joint organization of conference/workshop/ seminar/symposia/summer/School/training/lectures etc. to improve the exchange of knowledge and experience. 


Both the organization shall share their library for research and collaborative works. They shall indulge in exchange of books, journals and teaching materials including textbooks, audio-videos publications, reports and other teaching aids. 


Moreover, both the organization shall work for exchange of faculty/ research Scholars depending on the requirement and experience, for the benefit of the students and research scholars. They shall also collaborate in internship of students and work together in the areas of extension and other related works.


For the purpose of implementation of the MoU, Nanda Talukdar Foundation Guwahati has appointed Secretary Mrinal Talukdar as its representative and KKHSOU has appointed Registrar Dr. Arupjyoti Choudhury as its representative.


The said MoU shall be effective from the date of signing and shall remain in force for a period of 60 months. The duration may be extended with the consent of both the parties under mutually agreed terms and conditions.
