Momowale: The New Momo Hub of Guwahati

Your hunt for the best Momo in Guwahati is now over with Momowale

Momo lovers of Guwahati must rejoice as the city is now home to a new momo outlet ‘Momowale’.

As the name signifies, Momowale offers a variety of delicious momos. While Guwahati has several momo joints, what makes them special is the authentic taste of momos which will remind you of the ones available in Darjeeling. The size, quantity, and quality of their momos speak for themselves.

Momowale is the brainchild of two young and passionate entrepreneurs from Guwahati. Making the most of the nationwide lockdown, two friends and now business partners Jahnu Buragohain and Bhawana Tamang decided to follow their passion and turn it into a reality. At a time when major businesses were down and several were shutting doors, the duo decided to go ahead with their plan. With their fondness for momos, they started the new venture in August in Sundarpur area of Guwahati.

Initially, they began with home delivery but now they have a dine-in outlet too.

Speaking to G Plus about the inception of Momowale, co-owner Jahnu Buragohain said, “We wanted to do something around food for a long time but it never happened. During the lockdown, we spoke to each other several times and decided to go ahead with our plan of starting an outlet for all the momo lovers. Bhawana then quit her full-time teaching job and that’s how we started Momowale.”

Speaking further he said, “The idea behind Momowale came from our college time momo parties - fun parties where we make lots of momos and relish them with our friends was our go-to weekend plan. At Momowale, we want people to come and try their favourite momos and have their own parties.”

The duo is setting an example for several others who want to pursue their dreams but are holding back. Wanda Sykes had once said, “If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it,” and that’s exactly what Jahnu and Bhawana did.

Momowale serves an extensive range of momos starting from chicken steamed momos, fried momos, veg momos and prawn momos to gravy momos.

For the vegetarians, they have a good number of vegetarian options to choose from as well. Apart from momos they also serve kaudi (Darjeeling style shell pasta) shaphalay, noodles, thukpa, and much more.

Among other combos available, their Momos for the King & Queen is a steal deal. In this special combo, you get to try 4 different types of chicken momos at Rs 299. It comes in a pack of 20 pieces and is currently their best seller. They also have similar options for vegetarians.

For those avoiding flour (maida), they serve wheat (atta) momos too.

Apart from dine-in Momowale is also delivering their irresistible momos. You can order from their website or call/WhatsApp on 8822325795.

One of the owners mentioned that their schezwan momos and gravy momos are highly recommended and a personal favourite!!
