Amit Maloo, a resident of Guwahati and one of the founding members of SBP informed G Plus that several events related to cleanliness were organised during the programme. These included street plays, swachhta shapath among others.

“We shared our inputs as collected on the field with the GMC commissioner and also gave our suggestions which would help in making the city cleaner,” said Maloo.

Some of their suggestions included playing pre-recorded messages on loudspeakers asking people to throw garbage in dustbins, installing CCTV cameras in places which see a lot of littering, among others.

The organisers also rewarded ‘Swachhta Heroes’ who had played an integral role in the initiative.
