GUWAHATI: The body of a man was discovered in a drain on Mankata Road in Assam’s Dibrugarh district on Sunday, January 26. The location is near the site where Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone of four flyovers on the day.

The deceased has been reportedly identified as 26-year-old Ranju Katoky, a resident of Nirmali village in Dibrugarh who had been missing since the Navami celebrations during Durga Puja.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Dibrugarh police station said on Monday, January 27, “We found the body yesterday and are investigating the matter.”
The body was found during a routine security inspection ahead of the chief minister’s scheduled visit. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, and further details are awaited.
