Meghalaya University Professor In Stanford University’s List Of World’s Top 2% Scientists

USTM professor Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed’s focus is on  general relativity and quantum mechanics.

Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya, has been featured in Stanford University's prestigious list of the world’s top 2% scientists for 2024. This recognition, published on September 16, marks the fifth consecutive year that Ahmed has cemented his place in the global rankings.

Dr. Ahmed’s research focuses on theoretical physics, with an emphasis on general relativity and quantum mechanics. Over his career, he has successfully published 165 research papers in respected Scopus-indexed journals, including the ‘European Physical Journal C’ and the ‘Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics’.

His work has also appeared in ‘Scientific Reports’, ‘Annals of Physics’, and ‘Progress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics’.

Expressing gratitude for the honour, Ahmed said, "It’s truly humbling to be recognised by Stanford University for the fifth year in a row. This achievement highlights the significance of dedicated research and the relentless pursuit of knowledge."

Ahmed completed his undergraduate studies at Dhubri’s Bholanath College in 2006, followed by opting for a master’s degree at Gauhati University in 2009. His passion for research led him to pursue a PhD from the same university, which he completed in 2016.
