Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav To Highlight Northeastern Cultural Heritage At Rashtrapati Nilayam

 

The Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav’s inaugural edition will be hosted by the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad, Telangana, from September 29 to October 6, 2024. Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and the Ministry of Culture, this eight-day festival aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of India’s Northeastern states.

The event, to be inaugurated by the President of India on September 28, will showcase the diverse art, culture, crafts, and cuisine of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim. Over 300 artistes and artisans from these states will participate, offering visitors an immersive experience of the region's contrasting traditions.

The Rashtrapati Nilayam, the President’s winter retreat, was opened to the public in March 2023, allowing visitors to explore its vast grounds, thematic gardens, and architectural beauty.

While on-the-spot bookings will be available for walk-ins, visitors can also reserve slots online at visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.
