GUWAHATI: The six-time world champion Mary Kom staved off a stiff challenge from Asian Championships bronze medalist Nikhat Zareen in 51kg and made a comfortable entry into the final of the second edition of India Open International Boxing Tournament, held at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium in Guwahati on May 23.
Kom punched her way with a 4-1 win to set up a final showdown with Vanlal Duati.

In the meanwhile, four-time Asian Championships medalist Shiva Thapa (60kg) and Asian Games gold medalist Amit Panghal (52kg) were among others who faced no hassle on their way to the final.
