The suspension, initially imposed on September 10 in response to escalating violence and student protests, was extended once but has now been revoked.

Commissioner of Home N. Ashok Kumar issued the order, stating that the state government reviewed the law and order situation and decided to restore all forms of internet services, including mobile data, broadband, Lease Lines, VSATs, and VPN services.

The ban was imposed following a series of violent incidents and protests that occurred between September 1 and 7, resulting in 12 deaths, including two women, and injuries to 20 others.

In response to the unrest, the state government had suspended mobile internet services and temporarily closed all schools, colleges, and technical institutions across Manipur.

With the ban now lifted, schools and colleges are set to reopen starting Tuesday. The restoration of mobile internet services is expected to improve communication and facilitate normalcy in the affected districts.
