The accused, identified as Mustafa Rahman, son of late Abdul Salam, hailing from Mayang Imphal in Manipur's Kakching district, had arrived in Guwahati early this morning with a consignment of narcotics.

Sources informed the STF that Rahman intended to transport the illicit drugs to a lower Assam district and was using multiple buses to avoid detection.

Based on the input, the STF personnel tracked him down at around 10:15 am and conducted a search. A large quantity of Yaba tablets, commonly known as ‘madness drug,’ was found concealed in his shoulder bag. The recovery was made in the presence of a magistrate, and the tablets were seized on the spot.

Follwing this, Rahman was immediately taken into custody, and the STF has initiated legal proceedings against him.
