Man Posing As Buyer Rides Off With Bike In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A bike theft incident was reported from Khanapara near Dreamland on  October 12, with the victim filing an FIR at the Basistha Police Station the same day.

In his complaint, the victim stated, “I beg to state that my bike, Yamaha FD2205, has been stolen from Dreamland, near Khanapara.”
The incident reportedly took place around 12:18 p.m. when the victim was approached by a potential buyer who had shown interest in purchasing the bike.

Speaking to GPlus, the victim said, “The person had contacted my brother-in-law, expressing interest in buying the bike. He later contacted me via WhatsApp and arranged to meet at Khanapara near Dreamland for inspection.” 

The victim further recounted that during the meeting, the suspect asked to sit on the bike for a photograph. “As I was about to click the picture, he suddenly drove off with my bike without my consent, heading towards Basistha,” he added.
Talking to GPlus, an official from the Basistha Police Station said, “Enquiry is ongoing. We are still investigating the matter.” 

Further investigation is underway.
