GUWAHATI: The Basistha Police have arrested a person on July 25, who was involved in hiring vehicles on rent and selling them in Manipur. The man has been identified as Bikash Talukdar from Six Mile. The Basistha Police recovered three vehicles from different locations in Manipur.
According to the officer-in-charge of the Basistha Police, the complainant Prabhakar Sinha a resident of Basistha lodged an FIR stating that he had given his vehicle to a person named Bikash Talukdar on rent. Initially, Prabhakar was being paid the agreed rent. Furthermore, he also gave two more vehicles to Bikash Talukdar that were owned by his friends. After a few months Sinha stopped receiving the rent and also did not get his vehicles back.
Based on the FIR, the Basistha Police launched an operation, and traced the vehicles to different location in Manipur. Accordingly, with the help of the Manipur Police, all three vehicles have been recovered from the locations of Churachandpur, Chassad, and Ukhrul in Manipur. The police then arrested Bikash Talukdar.
After the investigation, it was found by the police that Bikash Talukdar is also a part of a group of mobile lifters led by on Debajit Bhattacharya who had already been arrested by the Geetanagar Police on July 5.
