GUWAHATI: An FIR was lodged at Guwahati’s Geetanagar Police Station on Tuesday, January 21, alleging that two individuals attempted to murder another in the early hours of the morning.

The incident took place in the Aashi Katyon apartment, as the accused Dhayjya Jyoti Gogoi attempted to kill the victim Sachin Kumar Teotia with a cleaver (daah) when he was cleaning his car.
Speaking to GPlus, Teotia’s wife Sakshi Rakhi said, “This has been going on for around ten months; there is this Gogoi and a woman named Sunita Hazarika, and both have been harassing the people in our building for a long time now. They are forcefully trying to evict us.”
“They constantly belittle us as outsiders,” Rakhi added. “The two are trying to take over all the flats here. The woman has previously slapped false cases on a security guard as well.”
“She constantly threatens my children,” Rakhi went on, “and has previously barged into our home once. But when she saw that I was recording the situation with my phone, she quickly hid the cleaver.”
Upon being pressed for further details regarding evidence, Rakhi stated, “They have the keys to the CCTV room and have damaged all the cameras in the building, so that we don’t have any proof against them. The entire society is terrified of these two.”
GPlus contacted Geetanagar Police Station to receive an update regarding the same. “It’s a familial issue at best,” an official from the police station said. “Yes, the family has also given many complaints against the accused prior to this event. We are investigating the case for the moment, and will update as the situation progresses.”
