GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a 34-year-old man flew from Delhi to Kolkata via Guwahati with a COVID positive report in his pocket.
The passenger took a flight on July 14 to reach his home state in West Bengal from Delhi.
Since flight operations from Delhi to Kolkata remain suspended, he took a connecting flight from Guwahati and reached Kolkata Airport around 5 PM.
Upon reaching Kolkata, the passenger insisted the airport officials to admit him to a quarantine centre immediately. However, Kolkata airport authority didn’t find any COVID related symptoms in the passenger as his body temperature was also normal upon checking.

With this passenger refused to leave the premises insisting on being sent to quarantine claiming he had a cough. “See, this is my COVID-19 result report”, said the passenger taking out the report from his pocket.
The passenger was then handed over the state health department and later sent to a COVID facility in Newtown near the airport. Now passengers of the two aircraft in which the COVID positive passenger flew are being contact traced by the airlines.
