Mamata Banerjee Reassures Public On CAA & NRC During Election Rally At Silchar

 

GUWAHATI: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday gave her assurance that no harm would come to people in the absence of Citizenship (Amendment) Act and NRC.

She was speaking at a campaign meeting for TMC candidate Radheshyam Biswas for the Silchar Lok Sabha seat at the Town Club ground in Silchar.
"The TMC has been speaking against the BJP from the very beginning on the NRC and the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.  Don't be afraid, no one can harm you in this state,” she said.

She also asserted that the BJP will not even cross the 200-seat mark although the party is talking about winning more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections this time.

She said INDIA bloc would form the government at the Centre this time.

Banerjee is one of the most important 'faces' of the opposition alliance.  

In her speech, she also discussed in detail several schemes of the Government of West Bengal for the social and economic development of the people of West Bengal. 

Banerjee appealed to all to ensure Biswas’ victory by a huge margin of votes. Election for the Silchar seat will be held on April 26.

Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev, West Bengal Cultural Affairs Minister Arup Biswas, TMC State President Ripun Bora, and other office-bearers were present on the occasion. After addressing a public meeting in Silchar, Mamata Banerjee returned by a special aircraft.
