Malayalam film 'Jallikattu' is India's official entry to the Oscars 2021. The film has been selected in the Best International Feature Film Category for the 93rd Academy Awards.

Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, the film stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad, and Santhy Balachandran. It is based on a short story titled 'Maoist', written by Hareesh S.
The plot follows a bull that escapes from slaughter in a hilly remote village and the entire village men gathering to hunt down the animal.
Jallikattu premiered on 6 September 2019 at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and received widespread critical acclaim. The film was also showcased at the 24th Busan International Film Festival.
Reportedly, the film beat Gulabo Sitabo, Bulbbul, The Sky is Pink, Serious Men, The Discipline, Shakuntala Devi, Chhapaak, Eeb Allay Ooo!, Gunjan Saxena, and 17 others.
