Makrand Deouskar Takes Charge As Inspector General Of BSF Guwahati Frontier

GUWAHATI: IPS officer Makrand Deouskar has assumed the role of Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier. A 1997-batch officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Deouskar brings extensive policing experience to his new position.

Deouskar's career includes serving as Superintendent of Police in various districts of Madhya Pradesh, Deputy Inspector General of the Jabalpur range, and holding key roles such as DIG Intelligence, IG Intelligence, IG Hoshangabad Zone, IG (CID), and Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. He was also the first Police Commissioner of Bhopal under the newly introduced Commissionerate system in the state.

In 2013, Deouskar received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He joined the BSF on deputation in February 2024, previously commanding the Rajasthan Frontier of the Border Security Force.
