Major Infrastructural Developments to be Undertaken in Assam Soon

GUWAHATI: The state of Assam is set to witness major infrastructural advancements in the coming months. 


A flyover will be constructed at Mission Chariali, Tezpur connected to the Kolia Bhomora Bridge, for which an additional amount of Rs. 321.41 crores has been allocated by the Assam government.


Moreover,  284 kms of fast track corridors will be constructed under the Assam Mala Project. The corridors will be the first of its kind in Assam. The stretches included are from Nagaon Town to Dhing (24kms) at the cost of Rs. 194 crore, 41 kms in Charaideo at Rs. 281 crores, Jorhat to Kamarbandha (32 kms) at Rs 216 crore, 8 kms in Hajo at Rs. 101 crore, Dalgoan to Dhekiajuli that will be parallel to the NH 52  at Rs. 429 crore, Sipajhar to Tangla (31 kms) at Rs. 299 crore, 38 kms at Rangia at Rs. 328 crore, 16 kms at Nalbari at Rs. 158 crore, a 30 kms 4 lane road from Palashbari to Chandubi with a flyover at Rs. 275 crore, 21kms at Bilasipara at the cost of Rs. 190 crores.


A total of Rs. 2626 crores will be spent for the construction of these corridors. 

With funding from the Asian Development Bank and the Assam Infrastructure Improvement Bank, 12 more roads are to be developed in Assam.
