GUWAHATI: Indian boxer and Olympics Bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain inaugurated a boxing centre - GTC Boxing Centre at the Gauhati Town Club on Friday, June 17.
Speaking to the media, the General Secretary of Gauhati Town Club Devajit Saikia said, “As per the advice of the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the President of the Guwahati Town Club, the GTC Boxing centre has been launched. It started with an initiative of an advanced modern state of the art modern boxing academy.”
“The Gauhati Town Club keeps hope that this boxing centre will allow all the boxing players who can come and get regular and advanced training. The GTC is ready to make more efforts to initiate more advanced coaching programmes under the advice of Lovlina Borgohain as well as the Secretary-General of the Boxing federation India Hemanta Kalita,” added Devajit Saikia.
