GUWAHATI: In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, a review meeting was held at the District Library today.
In the meeting, officials from the Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration, police authorities, and members of various puja committees were also present.
Speaking to GPlus, a source in Kamrup Metro District Administration said, "To mitigate noise disturbances during late hours, it was resolved that the use of sound speakers for puja-related activities would be strictly prohibited after 11 PM."
"Adequate security forces shall be deployed to oversee the festivities and maintain law and order. The proper management of (CCTV) systems will also be essential to monitor public gatherings and ensure the safety of attendees," the source added.
"Fire extinguishers must be readily available at all puja venues to promptly address any unforeseen fire-related incidents," the source further said.
"A commitment to cleanliness and hygiene was highlighted as an integral part of the celebrations," the source further told GPlus.
However, speaking to GPlus, a puja committee member said, "We had the meeting today and will receive the guidelines shortly from the local authorities.”
