GUWAHATI: Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan), Virendra Mittal declared a local holiday on November 7, in the entire district on the occasion of Diwali. All the state government offices, schools and colleges in the district will remain closed on November 7.

This holiday is to enable government employees and teachers to visit their native places to celebrate Diwali.
The order was issued on Monday by the district administration.
