Liquor Shops to Open as Per Assam Govt Directive Effective May 2

GUWAHATI: The government of Assam has decided to allow opening of liquor shops effective May 2 in the 'Green Zones'.

In an notification from the excise department it states that all liquor is to be sold at old price, however, new prices to be notified later.

The notification further reads, "All IMFL "Off" and country spirits "Off" shops located in districts under "Green Zone" are allowed to open with immediate effect".

Meanwhile all wine shops will comply social distancing norms and other guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
