GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department's Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a weather forecast for the northeastern states, including Assam and its adjoining regions. Over the next five days, light snowfall is predicted in isolated pockets of Arunachal Pradesh, along with light to moderate rainfall across various states in the region. Additionally, warnings of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds have been issued for certain areas.

• February 20: Light snowfall is expected in isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh, while light to moderate rain is forecasted in many places across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may also experience isolated rainfall.
• February 21: Similar conditions persist, with light snowfall projected in Arunachal Pradesh and rainfall likely in most places across the state. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may also witness scattered showers. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are anticipated in isolated areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
• February 22: Light snowfall could continue in isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh, while rainfall is expected to intensify in most parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds may occur in isolated areas of these states, along with heavy rain in isolated pockets.
• February 23: Light snowfall may persist in Arunachal Pradesh, accompanied by light to moderate rainfall in many areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
• February 24: Light snowfall could occur in isolated areas of Arunachal Pradesh, while scattered rainfall is anticipated in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Isolated showers are also possible in Assam and Meghalaya.
