GUWAHATI: Former captain of the Indian football team, Chuni Goswami, passed away in Kolkata on Thursday, April 30.
He was 82-years-old and suffered a cardiac arrest.
He was the captain of the Asian Games 1962 team which won the gold medal. Goswami was also a first-class cricketer. He was suffering from various ailments including prostate, sugar and nerve problems, as per reports.
Goswami was conferred the Arjuna Award as well as the Padmashree.
