KMSS Protest in Guwahati, Demands Akhil Gogoi's Release

GUWAHATI: The members of Krishak Sangram Samiti (KMSS) staged a protest in Chahchal area in Guwahati demanding the release of Akhil Gogoi.

The members in a sit-in demonstration also demanded the release of Dharjya Konwar, Bitu Sonowal, Manab Konwar and ULFA leader Jiten Dutta.

Akhil Gogoi's mother, Priyada Gogoi, also went on a hunger strike demanding her son's unconditional release from the NIA Custody.

She began her hunger strike on December 20, at her residence in Selenghat in Mariani and finally ended her fast on December 22.

It is to be mentioned that the health condition of KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi's mother turned serious and serious and people had requested to break her fast.

Meanwhile noted personal from Assam, Homen Borgohain, Hiren Gohain and AASU Adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya also demanded release of Akhil Gogoi who was arrested on December 12.

The KMSS leader has been taken into 10-day custody by the NIA for allegedly merging his organisation with Revolutionary Communist Centre (RCC).
