KMSS allege “discrepancies” in APSC investigation

GUWAHATI: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi today, 18th July, alleged “derailment” in the investigation of the Assam Public Service Commission cash for job scam as it did not include former and current politicians into its ambit yet.

“The investigation process is not complete as it has not questioned the prime accused of the scam Himanta Biswa Sarma. A lot of people are being summoned and arrested, but all are officials. Those who have orchestrated the scam are still running amuck,” Gogoi told media here on July 17.

Gogoi had been reiterating the demand to question assam cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for quite some time now. However, the court or the police have not found any link connecting Sarma to the scam yet.

Gogoi has also reiterated his earlier allegations on All Assam Student Union chief Samujjal Bhattacharya and former assam cabinet minister Ajanta Neog of suggesting contestants for the APSC exams and hence, demanded of bringing them under the ambit of the investigation.

“Bhattacharya and Neog backed contestants have also gotten jobs through APSC exams and are under investigation now; while the former duo are still outside the ambit of the investigation. To have a fair investigation, these people also need to be questioned,” Gogoi added.
