KMSS activist beaten by AAMSU leaders in Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI: A Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) activist was thrashed for allegedly demanding money from All Assam Students’ Minorities Union (AAMSU) activists in Dibrugarh on February 28.

The KMSS activist, Dhruba Gogoi, was beaten by four persons in Jain Hotel. The AAMSU leaders have been identified as Imtiaz Ali and Pankaj Paul.

Speaking to the media, Imtiaz said that Gogoi had demanded Rs 1 lakh from AAMSU by saying that AAMSU has a fake license to operate their tea business. Imtiaz also mentioned that the KMSS activists misbehaved with them.

The Dibrugarh Sadar police detained four persons involved and picked up Gogoi for interrogation into the matter.

Later, the Dibrugarh district unit of the All Assam Students’ Union and Matak Yuva Chatra Sanmilan gheraoed the police station demanding exemplary punishment to the accused
