GUWAHATI: Khanindra Kumar Choudhury, APS, Assam has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Police Commissionerate, Guwahati.
Choudhury was serving as Superintendent of Police at Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell (SVC).
In an order by the state government, Choudhury will fill the existing vacancy in the West Police District lying vacant after the suspension of Bhanwar Lal Meena.

Bhanwar Lal Meena, then DCP West, was suspended due to lapse of security arrangements during the Kamakhya Temple visit by Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi.
