Justice Kardak Ete And Mridul Kumar Kalita Sworn In As Judges Of Gauhati High Court

 

The swear-in ceremony of judges of Gauhati High Court was presided over by Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi.  

GUWAHATI: Justice Kardak Ete and Justice Mridul Kumar Kalita sworn in as judges of the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday, January 21. The oath was administered by Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi at a ceremony held in the Chief Justice's courtroom.

The selection of the two judges comes following a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium (SCC). During its meeting on January 7, the Collegium proposed that the two Additional Judges of the Gauhati High Court be appointed as Permanent Judges.

Justice Kardak Ete has been serving as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court since March 13, 2023. He completed his LL.B. at the Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, and began his legal career in 1999 after enrolling with the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim.

Justice Mridul Kumar Kalita, on the other hand, was promoted to the position of Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court on April 20, 2023. A science graduate from Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati, he pursued his LL.B. at Gauhati University in 1994 and later obtained his LL.M. from the same institution in 1997.
