GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption (Assam) on Wednesday, March 26 caught Nekibuz Zaman, Junior Engineer of the Fakiragram Municipal Board, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 in his office.

Zaman was apprehended after he allegedly demanded a bribe from a complainant in exchange for granting permission to renovate a shop. Acting on a tip-off, the vigilance team laid a trap and caught him in the act.
Authorities have confirmed that further legal proceedings are underway, and strict action will be taken as per the law.
