Junior College in Beltola Fined Rs. 2 Lakhs by GMC for not having Trade License

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation imposed a penalty of Rs 2,02,200/- on RJ Junior College in Beltola area for running the school without obtaining a trade licence. Also, 7 days' notice period has been served to Sudarshan Public School, Beltola due to absence of signing authority.

The penalty was imposed after a team led by the Collector, GMC, Veterinary Officer, GMC and Deputy Commissioner i/c Dispur Zone, GMC under the supervision of Devajyoti Hazarika, IAS, Commissioner, GMC today inspected the schools, colleges and other trade premises in Beltola Area.

The inspection drive was carried out based on the order issued by the Commissioner of GMC for examining the disposal systems of solid waste management including inspection of property tax, trade licence, building permission, parking of school buses, general cleanliness, etc of schools, colleges and other organizations.
