Bollywood actor John Abraham’s love towards animals and the Northeast India is no secret. Today, both the love interests got a common platform at the promotion of Purr Paws, a city-based organisation for animal welfare, rescue and rehabilitation of animals.
The actor, who also co-owns the North East United Football Club, was at his comfortable best - patting and playing with adopted dogs, puppies and cats – at the Radisson Blu hotel in the city.
“I have problem with those who have problem with animals,” Abraham stated adding, “Over the years, since I got associated with NEUFC, I have been in love with this place and Guwahati. As part of that love, I wanted to be part of an animal rescuing NGO based in northeast for quite some time.”
Abraham further said that in the coming days, the players of his team will also promote the cause.
Purr Paws Foundation is founded by Radha Barooah Panesar, Founder President and Nandini Baruva, Founder Vice-President in a bid to sensitise people regarding animal welfare and their rehabilitation.
“It was me who showed the interest when I came to know that my friend is running an Animal rescuing NGO here in Guwahati. Even before she asked, I wanted to get associated with the NGO,” Abraham said, during a press interaction in the presence of members of the NGO.
Abraham further asked people not to be gender biased or breed biased about the animals while adopting one.
“Every life counts. Adopting a stray dog is much nobler than purchasing a pure breed just to show one’s solvency,” Abraham said.
