Japanese Delegation Visits Guwahati, Explores Opportunities For Agriculture Students

GUWAHATI: A delegation from Japan engaged in a productive interaction with students from Assam's agricultural sector during an informative session held on October 26. The primary focus of this programme was to discuss work opportunities in Japan for proficient manpower interested in pursuing careers in the agriculture field under Japan's Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) programme, which operates within the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP).

This initiative represents a new avenue for aspiring agricultural professionals and complements the existing caregiver scheme. In addition, efforts have been made to introduce the Japanese language curriculum at the Guwahati Nursing College to support these ventures.

The Japanese delegation, led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan, featured members from various autonomous and private entities. These delegates have been tasked with identifying workforce requirements from across Japan and recruiting suitable candidates from Guwahati.
