GUWAHATI: There are allegations that contaminated water is being supplied in some areas of Jalukbari constituency.
The constituency comes under Gauhati Lok Sabha and the incumbent MLA is Cabinet Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Women residents of Pandu Kamakhya Colony took out a protest with the contaminated water and blamed the Guwahati Municipal Corporation for their plight. They accused GMC of charging Rs. 250 per month for drinking water and failing to provide regular supply.
The residents have been receiving the unhealthy water for past one week and are up in arms against the GMC and the local MLA.
The residents threatened a mass boycott of polls if their problem is not addressed immediately by the concerned authorities.
