GUWAHATI: The 2nd Netaji Cup International Karate Championship, 2024 kicked off on January 22 at Guwahati. Assam Minister of Transport, Excise & Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya, attended the opening ceremony. The tournament, organised by the Assam Sports Karate Academy under the Assam Olympic Association, commenced at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium in Sarusajai, Guwahati.
Dedicated to the legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 127th birth anniversary, the championship has drawn the participation of more than 800 contestants from various regions of North East India. Expressing his delight, Minister Suklabaidya conveyed his pleasure at attending the prestigious event and extended his best wishes to all the players participating in the championship.
The 2nd Netaji Cup International Karate Championship promises a display of skill and athleticism, bringing together karate enthusiasts from across the Northeast. The tournament is expected to contribute to the promotion of martial arts and the fostering of a competitive spirit among the participants.
