GUWAHATI: Kmoin Wahlang, a 74-year-old woman and India’s oldest marathon runner who hails from Meghalaya, has requested the State's people to come out and vote in the upcoming Legislative Elections of Meghalaya which will be held on February 27.
She appealed to a part of the ‘Vote For Sure’ campaign by the Chief Electoral Officer of Meghalaya to get more people to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming polls.
Kong Kmoin Wahlang, born in 1948, participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon in 2019, making her the country’s oldest marathon runner.
She had participated in the ‘amateur’ category and finished the full marathon in 4 hours, 33 minutes and 55 seconds. She is a mother of 12 children, grandmother of 48 and great-grandmother of 50.
