GUWAHATI: The Indian Railways is preparing to launch the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe Tourist Train, which will depart from the New Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on March 21 this year.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the train will take passengers on a complete 15-day North East Circuit that will include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, and Meghalaya.
The theme for the northeast circuit is ‘North East Discovery: Beyond Guwahati’.
According to reports, the train tour will begin on March 21, 2023, at the Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station and will cover some of the most beautiful places in Northeast India, including Sivasagar, Guwahati, Jorhat, and Kaziranga in Assam, Agartala's Unakoti, Tripura, Kohima, and Dimapur in Nagaland, and Shillong and Cherrapunji in Meghalaya.
As previously reported, the Indian Railways launched the Bharat Gaurav scheme in 2021 to boost Indian tourism while also attracting tourists from around the world.
This train is part of the Government of India's initiatives to promote domestic tourism, such as 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' and 'Dekho Apna Desh’.
Passengers can board and deboard the train in Delhi, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Tundla, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Varanasi, among other cities.
This train will be a deluxe AC train that can accommodate 156 tourists and is air-conditioned with AC 1 and AC 2 tiers. It will include two fine dining restaurants, shower cubicles in coaches, a modern kitchen, sensor-based washroom functions, and other amenities.
The cost of the ticket ranges from ₹1,06,990 per person in AC 2 Tier to ₹1,31,990 per person in AC 1 cabins and ₹1,49,290 per person in AC 1 coupe.
In addition, the ticket includes hotel accommodations, train travel, all vegetarian meals, sightseeing and transfer costs, and travel insurance, among other things.
