GUWAHATI: In an endeavour to provide humanitarian assistance to the less privileged, the Corps of the Indian Army, under the initiative 'Operation SADBHAVANA,' has undertaken a series of projects in underdeveloped areas of Assam.

Recently, the troopers completed the construction of a school in a phased manner at Khatkati village in East Karbi Anglong district, aimed at empowering visually challenged children residing in these remote regions.

During the initial phase of the project in 2021, the blind school building was successfully erected. This year, as part of Phase II, the Indian Army has constructed an additional building comprising classrooms and administrative facilities to enhance the overall functionality, media reports stated.

The school was formally handed over to Madhumita Bhagwati, the District Commissioner of East Karbi Anglong, in the presence of civil administration and the local populace, reports stated.
