GUWAHATI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has strictly instructed the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) that apart from mobile phones and wallets nothing else will be allowed inside the Baraspara Stadium.
Addressing a press conference on December 3, ACA General Secretary, Devajit Lon Saikia said, "We will only allow money purse (not bag) and mobile phone and may be vehicle keys."
"We will not allow any banners, posters or pencils or sketch pens, however we may allow our National Flag," said Guwahati Commissioner of Police Munna Prasad Gupta.
Relating to an incident, Devajit Lon Saikia said that in 1996 when India was playing against Sri Lanka in the semi-final of the Wrld Cup Match at Kolkata, speactators started throwing water bottles on the play ground which resulted in stopping the match and eventually abundant the match.
