According to news reports, the agreement was reached during a series of discussions held on Sunday, January 26, coinciding with Indonesia’s participation in India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the chief guest at the celebrations in New Delhi.

This update has followed India’s successful delivery of BrahMos missiles to the Philippines, which had earlier placed an order worth USD 335 million. The deliveries are ongoing, with more expected shortly.

Other nations, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and countries in the Middle East, have also shown interest in the India-Russia joint venture missile system, which incorporates several components from Russia.

Indonesian officials also reportedly expressed interest in collaborating with India on aircraft carrier construction, as the latter is one of the few nations globally capable of indigenously building aircraft carriers.

Indian defence officials, meanwhile, reportedly engaged with Indonesian representatives on enhancing bilateral cooperation in shipbuilding.
