Jasprit Bumrah Named ICC Men’s Test Cricketer Of The Year For 2024

 

GUWAHATI: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been named the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year for 2024 after a standout year in the longest format of the game. The 31-year-old claimed a career-best 71 wickets from 13 matches, establishing himself as the top bowler in Test cricket. His performances were instrumental in India’s strong standing in the ICC World Test Championship with an impressive average of 14.92 and a strike rate of 30.1.

Bumrah’s performance included standout series wins at home and abroad, including a role in the Border-Gavaskar Series in Australia, where he took 32 wickets across five Tests and was named Player of the Series. He also became the 12th Indian bowler to reach 200 Test wickets, with an impressive average of 19.4.
