The left-handed opener delivered consistently against top-tier opposition throughout the year, amassing a record-breaking 747 runs in just 13 matches and cementing her status as one of the best players in the women’s game right now.
Mandhana’s standout performances began early, with back-to-back centuries in June that secured a 3-0 series win against South Africa. She continued to lead in other matches, including a match-winning century against New Zealand in October.
The 28-year-old ended the year as the leading run-scorer in women’s ODIs, surpassing South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (697 runs). Mandhana’s 747 runs came at an average of 57.86 and a strike rate of 95.15. Her tally included a record-setting four centuries and 95 boundaries.
Mandhana also led the charts in the ICC Women’s Championship, scoring 1,358 runs in 24 matches. She became one of only five batters to cross the 1,000-run mark in the competition and finished more than 100 runs ahead of the next highest scorer, Laura Wolvaardt.
