India's Population Still Vulnerable to COVID-19, Reveals ICMR Survey

The Indian Council of Medical Research’s (ICMR) second Sero Survey report revealed that a considerable population of India is still vulnerable to COVID-19. The statement was made by Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Union Health Ministry. 


According to the report, one in 15 individuals aged more than 10 years were estimated to be exposed to Covid-19 by August 2020.


Amid the rising concerns regarding COVID-19, the number of recovered cases in India crossed 53 lakh which is the highest in the world, as per Health Ministry. 


The number of COVID-19 tests per million population has crossed 50,000 in India with a total 2.97 crore tests conducted in the month of September.


"The count of COVID-19 deaths per million population in India is amongst the lowest in the world," said Rajesh Bhushan.
