India’s first oil museum to come up in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Guwahati is all set to get the country’s first oil museum, announced Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan when he visited Guwahati a few weeks ago.

It will reportedly be constructed at a cost of Rs 104 crores.

For this project, five of the major petroleum and natural gas PSUs including IOCL, HPCL, ONGC, EIL and BPCL will come together.

“The national oil museum will preserve the history of the oil industry in the country and create awareness among the people about the richness of the industry’s heritage,” said Pradhan.

He further said that Assam will become the hub of hydrocarbon trade with Southeast Asian countries.
